About Torre da Ciência

Torre da Ciência ("Tower of Science") is a free science news site in Portuguese, with versions in English, Spanish and French.

How it works

Several times a day, a robot reads the official channels of scientific journals, space agencies, research institutes, universities and health organizations. When two of these channels, from different organizations, cover the same study or fact, artificial intelligence writes an article in plain language using only what is in those sources.

Before going live, each article is checked: at least two independent sources, every number present in the sources, citations linked to sources, no copied passages and a neutral tone. A second AI reading compares each claim with the sources. If anything fails, the article stays as a draft and is not published.

Transparency

Every article shows its list of sources with the original link, authors or institution, publication date, access date and DOI when available, plus the checks performed. Readers can report errors through the form at the end of each article.
